To assist in the moral and spiritual growth and development of our youth, Rev. N. Jerome McClain developed the Jesus Cadets (J-Dets) program which is modeled after the Boy/Girl Scouts of America. In partnership with committed and caring volunteers, the youth of Julington and the community will participate in activities to help develop qualities they will need to enhance their lives, including spiritual growth, leadership skills, strong morals and values, problem solving skills, critical thinking skills, life skills, personal physical fitness, self-worth, self-reliance, and initiative.
Immersed in strong Christian teaching, activities designed to accomplish this goal are enriching, informative, challenging and fun.

Jesus Cadets is a youth organization developed to provide children with a Christian Based program focused on Social, Mental, Moral, Physical, and Spiritual Health. Youth are accepted into the program regardless to race, creed, religion or bias, however, all members of J-Dets are governed by the conditions herein established and shall not teach, deviate, or otherwise minimize the meanings or instructions. Youth refers to children up to the age of eighteen (18) years. Julington Baptist Church and its’ constitution is the flag ship of this organization. The Articles of Faith embraced by Julington contain the conditions by which J-Dets shall be governed locally and abroad. Notwithstanding it is acknowledged that Local Christian Churches agree to disagree concerning the administration of church. “Now there are diversities of gifts/ but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.” 1 Corinthians 12:4-7
Therefore Christian churches who differ in denominational issues may be approved for a J-Det Charter, as long as the Lordship of Jesus Christ The God and Saviour is not confused.
Charter organizations of J-Dets are considered relative to their Faith in Christ Jesus and the Holy Scriptures. The Commander and Chief of J-Dets is empowered to extend or refuse charter associations under the rules and guidelines of J-Dets. Each charter request will be considered on the bases of the above.
The Scripture governing J-Dets are exclusively the King James (1611) version of the Bible for English Speaking Nations. For other language base societies the version that complements the KJV is accepted.
We believe that the Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired, and is a perfect treasure of heavenly instruction; that it has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth without any mixture of error for its matter; that it reveals the principles by which God judges us, and therefore is, and shall remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions shall be tried. Ex. 24:4; Deut. 4:1-2; Josh.8:34; Psalm 19:7-10; Jer. 15:16; Matt. 5: 17-18,22:29; Luke 21:33,24:44-46; John 5:39,16:13-15,17:17; Acts 2:16,17:11; Rom. 15:4, 16:25-26; II Tim. 3:15-17; Heb. 1:1-2, 4:12; I Peter 1:25; /I Peter 1:19-21.
J-Dets acknowledges the creation and fall of man-kind and therefore acknowledges the need to A.S.K (Matthew 7:7) the will of Jesus in our lives. This need is facilitated by this fact:
Man was created by the special act of God in His own image, and is the crowning work of His creation. In the beginning man was innocent of sin and was endowed by his creator with freedom of choice. By his free choice man sinned against God and brought sin into the human race. Through the temptation of Satan man transgressed the command of God, and fell from his original innocence whereby his posterity inherits a nature and an environment inclined toward sin, and as soon as they are capable of moral action become transgressors and are under condemnation. Only the grace of God can bring man into His holy fellowship and enable man to fulfill the creative purpose of God. The sacredness of human personality is evident in that possesses dignity and is worthy of respect and Christian love. Gen. 1:26-30, 2:5, 7, 18-22; Matt. 16:26; Acts 17:26-31; Rom. 1:19-32; I Cor. 1:21-31/ 15:19,2122; Eph. 2:1-22; Col. 1:21-22, 3:9-11.
J-Det acknowledges that we are all created equal with respect to opportunity to accept the WILL of God, however with different skills, aptitudes, and desires.
